Robert has put together a visual and laser show to accompany his live music. This is the first time he has toured with visuals along with music. Pictures of his new audio/visual performance are here

There are still plenty of tickets available for the show, and we will have space if you are planning on buying your tickets at the door. Demand is strong, though, we’re expecting an amazing performance. If you plan on purchasing your ticket at the door, arrive on time. We’ll see you there!
With over two dozen albums, Robert Rich has helped define the genres of ambient music, dark-ambient, tribal and trance, yet his music remains hard to categorize. Part of his unique sound comes from using home-made acoustic and electronic instruments, microtonal tunings, computer-based signal processing, chaotic systems and feedback networks. Rich began building his own analog synthesizers in 1976, when he was 13 years old, and later studied for a year at Stanford’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA). Ambient is more of …
Ambient is more of a broader description for a range of styles of music that are, but not always, instrumental, and slow tempo’ed. New age is almost like a brother genre, very close, but quite a tight genre in terms of what is new age and what isnt. Ambient is also used to describe the downtempo music of a wide range of other genres from rock to pop, in my experience. Check out f4b dot com for a range of ambient and chill out styles.

What is the difference between ambient and new age music?Both create soundscapes,are atmospheric,use electronics and acoustic instruments,use very little if any singing,and are inspired by nature.

Yes, he is good, both in the slow ambient stuff and the more melodic stuff. He also happens to play microtonally in just intonation. Please put up a longer video. Is that from The Gatherings in Philly?
