@4against1 I think Lombardo is still my favorite metal drummer, Neil Peart my favorite progressive rock drummer, and Vinnie Colaiuta my favorite all around studio and guest drummer. No offense to 4against1, but ulrich and barker just put me to sleep. They’re competent, I guess. I heard that Buddy Rich had a heart attack once while playing a song, and he didn’t stop playing until the song was over! My uncle was a jazz and big band drummer and his favorite was Shelly Manne.
