Can anyone recommend a deep love story in a book?
Posted by admin on Jan.21, 2010, under Riches Secrets
Im fed up with silly airy fairy love stories about girls obsessed in shoes looking for mr right. I want to read about a strong powerful woman/vixen and her lifelong quest to get her guy. Preferably a rags to riches or something along them lines and her devilish tactics at winning an old flame. Something deep with little or no humour. Betrayal, infidelities and bitch tactics would be a bonus. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated?
To drag out the classics, ‘try ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. (The Marquise de Merteuil is a wonderfully scheming vixen and an utter witch.)

I don’t know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is considered by many to be one of the best love stories out there. I personally have enjoyed it greatly.

The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan. Main character Marnie is strong and withstands townspeople accusing her of being a witch. In the meantime she befriends the town’s "devil" boy. Everyone thinks he has devils in him but he is really just deaf. Marnie befriends him and helps him learn sign language. Their friendship turns to much more throughout the book. It is a teen read but it’s such a great and emotional love story about two people different and not accepted by society.
