Where will the next religion land?

Posted by on Mar.27, 2010, under Rich Mp3

Just thinking: *painfull but it’s fun sometimes.

The old Testament came at a time when men had evolved to a point that they needed a structure of religion in there lives eg..10 commandments.

The new testament came when man had evolved to where they needed a new relationship to their fellow man; forgiveness and repentance.

The world is evolving again and man is pressing past those bounds set by Christ, Mohammid, budha,… society is now embracing Stem cell, Artificial inteligents and thoughts that have evolved over thousands of years…. It is not "when" will the new religion begin but where?… whom will bring about the change?
The destitue? The soldure? woman? Robot? Rich?

Let go of man and his perfect religions that place man against man or limit the growth as we juggle our existance with the bomb etc..

Your thoughts?

I am a Christian, but any believers "creator" could plan to have evolve a religion that shifts the mindset of man for its betterment?

Evolve??? Don’t get me wrong, I take a religious, and scientific approach to things, and I do believe that humans evolved, but by the time humans got to the time frame of the Ten Commandments, we were in our human form that is known today. The insight to knowledge is not evolution, it is progression.
It is only a matter of time before someone creates something new… Just look at Scientology, if that is not a whack job, I don’t know what is. Science should be used to understand God in a logical way, not applied as a singular religion.

If your search religions there really is nothing new under the sun. I don’t think the 10 commandments had anything to do with the structure of religion but the recognition of priorities. And really you don’t think that forgiveness and repentance existed before Jesus? And do you really think that there is anything better than forgiveness, repentance, humility, love, patience, and so on. You see Christ taught principles that span culture and the development of civilization. Live by these principles and see if you need anything else.

I think you have answered your own question. Religions, or beliefs, stem from the creation of what we conceive to be a consumate world view from incomplete facts.

The greeks replaced these missing facts with Gods, the Jeudo-Christians with ‘a God,’ and now we are filling them with a little term known as ‘extrapolation’ – we take what we know from science, and extrapolate it to assume other things.

Science is, essentially a religion – if we define religions as ‘belief systems’ – which I do, whether webster agrees or not! So we’ve already reached the age of the new religion, it started in Greece with Aristotle and has existed ever since. It will outlive the others because it is more adaptable and willing to change – and only those who haven’t studied science would say it is any less beautiful than any other belief. What could be more beautiful than * belief in the world we live in?

*(I removed the word ‘truths’ because science never claims to know truth)

Where science lacks is in morality, and philosophy will have to cover that.

And just a clarification, Buddhism cannot really be called a religion (again, webster be damned!), although some sects of it fall under that description. Buddhism is (mostly) a method for training one’s mind. It is an investigative method to discover that which lies behind our ‘selves’ and is quite scientific in nature.

Now all that aside, I might ask permission if I may perform a little rant of my own? (i say ‘might’ ask because in reality i won’t ask, and I’ll just rant away!)

Why do humans feel the need to create some sort of intangible realm of connection to some other being? (whether it be to God, Gods, or each other . . . .) we seem to imagine our minds touch in some ephemeral place.

I understand that this idea stems from human loneliness, and our sense that we cannot connect to others – but are we not going about this backwards?

I mean our minds are the one thing we DON’T share! THIS is the place where our minds connect (not yahoo answers, as great as it might be, but in existence). This is where we can learn to understand one another. This is where we are inextricably a part of everything that is, a drop in an ocean no doubt, but a part of the ocean none the less. And when existence is seen from this perspective I have to ask what is it that makes us think we are alone?

Ps. I posted this rant in another question if you want to respond – just click on my name and go to ‘Questions asked’

Today, every matured and civilized human being has understood that the principles of all the religions are same.

Now, the only religion which can probably emerge, will be the religion which unifies all the religions of the world instead of discriminating between them. And that religion will never try to prove its superiority over any other religion.

Yet If a new religion is to be born, it will take its birth in India as it is the only country which has given a great welcome to all the religions on its land whether they came through peaceful means or through wars. And I feel that the new religion will be brought by the efforts of millions of Indians and it will take years to get established. Once established, it will remain forever. And its followers will be the wisest of all as they will truly understand that God is one and All religions are equally great.
