Are there any ways to increase your energy level when anemic?

I have been suffering from iron deficiency anemia since I first started my period at age 10. So, 14 years. Sometimes I’m responsible with taking my iron, but other times I get irresponsible, irritated with the gastric side effects, and end up just stopping for a while. During those times, I try to eat foods that are really rich in iron, but it’s not enough.

Anyway, I am taking my iron consistently, as I’ve found a non-constipating formula. BUT it’s going to take a while before my body can get back to normal (whatever that is… I don’t think my body even knows what normal is anymore).

Are there any ways to increase my energy level during this time period? I know exercise should help, but it’s rare that I can get into a workout without feeling dizzy and awful. Are there any kind of natural supplements etc. that might help? Caffeine is pretty much my ally

Also, my periods have been coming early every month, which kind of feels like I’m taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
May- I am taking the ‘Whole Foods’ brand of "chelated iron" (pronounced ‘key-lated’). Basically any chelated iron should be better for your stomach than the regular kinds (ferrous gluconate, sulfate, etc.)

Another brand that is non-constipating is called "Easy Iron" and it’s actually a liquid in capsules. It’s a little more expensive though.

There is also a brand called "Slow-FE" which releases the iron over a longer period of time, to make the side effects less strong. I found it was too expensive though, and not as good as either of the 2 I mentioned above.

Vit. B 100 complex; Creatine1500mg with breakfast; Panax Ginseng 250 mg; chromium picolinate 200 mcg; Green tea extract tea: 2-3 dropperfuls/day in hot or cold water; Potassium 99mg; Bee Pollen.

Feel better.

what iron pills are u taking, because i would like to switch to the non constipating ones too. Well, caffeine is really what i use, but i also started drinking this drink called 5 hour energy at wal-greens, and it has alot of b-vitamins in it, which has really increased my energy levels.
