Some good beginners books for investing?
Posted by admin on Jan.17, 2012, under Riches Secrets (3) Comments
I’m 2 months into a bachelor of business financial planning but its moving slowly I want to learn more!!
Really interested in Investing and just wanted to know a few books that can teach me the basics/intermediate stuff.
Not get rich quick books.
Thanks in advance!
Haha yeah already have one of those
.
Hoping more along the lines to building a portfolio etc. That can pay out nicely once I retire..
I love the motivation and that’s what it will take to succeed. You will be told "NO" when pitching ideas, but remember that for every 100 "No"s you receive you only need 1 "yes". These are the business books that have helped me over the years:
1. Rich dad, Poor dad (must read for every business major)
2. Business stripped bare
3. How to become rich (by felix dennis)
4. Delivering Happiness
5. Start something that matters
6. Predictably irrational
7. Own your own corporation
8. Outliers
9. 4-hour work week
10. Think and grow rich.
None of these books are "get rich quick" all of them provide useful knowledge that will help you along your way. From dealing with failure, starting a corporation, motivating you to keep going, dealing with employees, marketing, treating customers with respect. Its all in there.
How-to- get rich- books are now filed under fiction, means?

Can you explain me this? Thanks
I think it is symbolic. It says, "Nothing can tell you how to get rich."
Sure, people can teach you how to save money or make a little extra, but there’s no such thing as learning how to get rich. Getting rich is up to you and how you live your like, what decisions you make.
It’s actually an irony. You’re spending money on a book which is "teaching" you to make money, thus the writer of the book is really the one making money off of your spending.

Can people really learn/become rich from reading books?

My friend only reads books now. He also takes notes and writes it down workbooks and notepads. He says he’ll become richest man in the world. Can books really help with this. He’s starting to sound like a loser and nerd. Only rappers and racist conservatives like George Bush are rich. What chance does he have? How do I get him to come out clubbing and become a man?
When he says that he’ll become the richest man in the world, he may not be referring to money. Think about it on your off time from clubbing.
Suggest me some good books which can help me understand India better?

These days I’m reading "The Discovery of India" by Jawaharlal Nehru and I’ve learned a lot of new things about India through that book. Suggest me some books which are about India’s rich history and unique character.
Midnight’s Children.
It’s a blend of fiction and history, and will make a fascinating companion to the Nehru as part of it covers the same period. Plus, a serious contender for the best book I’ve ever read.
For a colonial perspective, try Kipling’s ‘Kim’. Has the white-imperialist overtones of the day, but far from one-sided. It’s based on Kipling’s own childhood – he was actually born in India and Hindi was his first language.
As anyone used the john Alexander 14days riches in real estate book?

l watched the program on tv and he souned pretty good but am not really sure if what him and his student said are really true. cos they all testified to buying realestate with no money down. is that real or is it a scam.
sweetie, have you been living under a rock? pick up the business journal, or read any news, or watch any financial report. the market is dead and people are bankrupt for doing EXACTLY what the book urges.

What books do you recommend for increasing financial intelligence?
Posted by admin on Apr.28, 2011, under Riches Secrets (1) Comment
I’ve just read Rich Dad Poor Dad and Rich Dads Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki. In these books Robert talks about the
importance of financial intelligence. Which books do you recommmend which can help me increase my financial inteligence
as prescribed by R. Kiyosaki. I’m not really good with numbers so a book thats aimed at such people wpuld be best. A
"financial inteligence for dummies" if you will.
Warren Buffett wrote (maybe co-wrote) a book a few years ago. I highly recommend it.
Also, I would strongly recommend a basic textbook on micro- and macro-economics.
Good luck.
How do people get rich off books or music?
Posted by admin on Apr.21, 2011, under Riches Secrets (5) Comments
I don’t really care much about the money part of being an author, probably because I’m just naturally creative/imaginative,and because I really don’t feel the need to buy stuff.
But,anyway, how do people get rich off books or music? Singers and authors don’t get that much money from one copy of a book sold, how? I can understand if thousands are sold but..
That is the thing is thousands are sold, look at the Da Vinci Code over 60.5 Million copies sold and if he only gets 50 Cents for each one sold that is $30.25 Million so that is how he makes that much money and it is the same thing for musicians it is just quantity sold
Good Books under the genre Teen Drama?

I love the Clique, Gossip Girl, and A-List, but I was wondering what other books fall under that category and have similar plots. You know, usually the books are about rich people and thier whereabouts…etc. Advice would be good. THX.
The Private Series by Kate Brian
& there’s another series thats not exactly like that, but I bet you’ll like it.
The first one in the series is called Pretty Little Liars
The second one is called Flawless
The third is Perfect
& the fourth, not out until may 27, is called Unbelievable
Also, read anything by Ellen Hopkins.
-Crank
-Burned
-Glass
-Impulse
& The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky will change your life.
They’re both really good series & I highly recommend them.
