i want to get a present for my 8 year old neice. she really really wants an ipod and numbrer one im not rich enough to buy one for her (lol im only 16 my money is all like babysitting money lol!) and number 2 she wont even like care if its not a real ipod she only wants something that can play music really…. so i was wondering i always see people with mp3s that look simular to ipods. i saw a couple on ebay but i dont trust ebay so much.. i was wondering where i can get an mp3 player ipod lookalike for under $50?

I refuse to pay ridiculous prices to download music. The selfish record companies are rich enough as it is.

So with legality not an issue, does anyone have any good methods of downloading music free?

Once you’ve downloaded it u can download any video nd convert them into to any format e.g iPod iPhone mp3 etc. in able to do that u jst take the mouse curser on the vid u want to download nd a small box will pop up above the vid, click on it nd your on the track m8!

My current music (CD/MP3) collection, around 5000 songs, consists of roughly 30% purchased music and 70% pirated. I’m now looking in to legalising my whole collection, it may seem strange I know. I’m not rich, so I can’t simply go to the record store and buy every album. Do you think it would be cheaper to individually purchase each track (eg iTunes), or buy albums/compilations? Please try to be creative with your responses.
For bonus points: Where can I get used white labels (promo CDs)? I know my local music store gets given white labels when they need to play clean versions of explicit albums.

3500 $ is a lot of money. Start with buying the albums that have more than 10 tracks you like, and simply delete the tracks that do not earn 5 stars.

So. Where i live, theres different definitions of "rich". & its starting to confuse me…so. tell me if you think my family & i are "rich".
my house has five rooms, a garage, a pool, a attic, and two bathrooms.
ive had two laptops, they both broke. & i have a desktop now..=/
ive had like 4 or 5 phones in the past 6 years, my current one is a sidekick. ive had an ipod [lost] & an mp3 [stolen]. my dad has three cars. & gets paid 4 thousand a week.
although richness/money doesnt matter, i wnna know. its not like im some stuck up snotty girl who thinks shes better than everybody else, because im actually pretty nice. =] & for those of you who think that material posessions are better than love/friends/family, then you got issues. & for the people who think they’re better than everyone else, then you need to take a look in the mirror because all the damage you’ve done will always be right behind you.
well anyway; tell me if this is what you call "Rich".
yes, i know that family, friends, and love are THE most important thing out there, & i know im very lucky, and fufilled in that area, so thats why i didnt ask about the people i care about. Because i love them enough to ACTUALLY be greatful for them, and everything they provide for me.

I’m thinking about buying a psp, . I like that fact that I heard you can web browse on there. I know athat it holds pictures and music..but I already have a 30 gig mp3 player for that (that I don’t have to buy a memory card for) so the only good thing about it would be the games (I get bored of video games very quickly and play them rarely ((mostly because I suck at them )) but I would probably have a few if I got it) and the web browsing….from someone who has a psp…what is the web browsing on it like? what can you do on the internet with a psp? I just added all that information to inform you of what I think is cool about it, and why I think I want it , do you guys think it’ll be worth the money?

PS: btw, I’m not a rich spoiled teenager that can get whatever she wants without even thinking about where the money is coming from …but my parents could afford to buy it for me if I REALLY wanted it. And i don’t buy things just because everyone else has it.

The plus for web browsing is that you can go onto a lot of sites, not myspace. The bad thing is that typing in the url is like a cell phone. You can go on to Vista to download it and you don’t need to go onto the internet constantly. http://www.psphowtos.co.nr/ is the site where you get vista and stuff. That is a plus too.
I wouldn’t get it if you have a good iPod.

That guy is wrong. Completely. You can’t go onto myspace, you CAN get movies of of Google easily, and Youtube harder.You CAN get vista on the PSP with the link above. You can play games and stuff, but it is not like the Vista for the computer. That person does not know anything about the PSP. I have had mine since it came out. He knows nothing. He probably hasn’t tried putting movies or even Vista on the PSP.

5 years now and I have just over 9000 MP3′s and I have not bought 1 lousy cd in the last 5 years. So if everyone is downloading and just copying these days, how else are they getting rich?

they really don’t make that much off of album sales. It’s the concerts and tours is where they make all the money

I’ve seen lots of answers here where people say "I absolutely hate iPods, but here’s how to use it…"

I’ve owned two iPods as well as other mp3 players, and as far as I’m aware, they’re the most durable, easy-to-use, feature-rich mp3 player on the market.

They have their downsides:
• You have to use them with iTunes. But iTunes is free, easy, simple, and really well put together.
• They’re more expensive. But they’re way more durable and have a ton more features than cheaper mp3 players like Zen.
• They’re "trendy". I think what this means is that they’re so popular that people want something less "mainstream".
• They’re made by Apple… which some people have a problem with for some reason!

iPods are pretty great pieces of gear. So why the hatred? It’s just a really well-made mp3 player
A few interesting points people have brought up need comments:
• I agree that the non-replaceable battery is annoying. They last about two or three years, but still, I wish I could replace it myself (or for less than $100)
• "ipod has its lack of accesories"? Not sure what stores you’ve been in, but iPod has THOUSANDS of accessories… far, far more than any other mp3 player. It’s one of the reasons people buy them, because they have so many accessories.

You want to know why people hate iPods? Well, let’s begin.

1. It’s about 100 bucks to replace the battery. Not sure if the price has gone down, but that’s what one of my friends told me several years go.

2. It keeps getting redesigned. As soon as you buy one, expect it to be out of style within a year.

3. New models are being added while some models have stopped being made. The 60 gb iPod video was out for a several months, and then all of a sudden, Apple stopped making them, and added the 80 gb and at a lower price. Why not just make the 80 gb in the first place? Get it right the first time, or don’t make it.

i mean apart from the wow factor ,do they have nething which has made our life better

Mp3 players came a good 2 3 yrs before we saw the first I pod and it was good enuff

Yes, they are. At first when i got mine i found it interesting the first day or so, but then i was bored. I returned it. It is just a phone for 500 dollars nothing more (besides finger motion). It also makes you feel shallow. I decided to give it up and put 500 dollars to something better.

Limewire or itunes…

I just wanted to take my time to ask this question before I go to bed! So I don’t think am spoiled.I have all the regular inexpensive things a normal teen haves.So I have mostly rocawear,baby-phat,aeropastale,and other name brand clothes. Lots of shoes.I get a pair every week.I get 400 dollars every chrismas but I don’t ask for it but i’m blessed. I have 8 phones but only 3 are on and out of the 3,2 are minute phones then the rest of my phones are not.I have a twin canopy bed that I had since I was 8-So not spoiled nor rich.100 dollars gold earrings. I have like a "26" tv-no it’s not a flatscreen but I’m getting one.I have two birds getting a yorkie.I had a pink mp3 player but now I have a black one but I’m very mad because It broke on 13th friday or something like that.I don’t ask my parents for anything.The only thing I ever begged for is a ds and puppy.We only have one house.My mom has a malibu.Daddy has a Jeep.I have my own dell computer but I have to share it with my big brother but my sister and mommy has a laptop.The only reason my sister has one is because her boyfriend got her one.I will be getting a job when I turn 14 which is in April.I’m the baby on my mom side that is why I get all the love I can.I’m going to chicago and new york next month-is because I asked.My room is all pink.I’m getting pink and purple braces or perhaps pink and blue..well idk I’m just being excited..hmm I wonder how I will lokk woth them but back to me being spoiled which I’m not.I’m just a very blessed child.No spoiled brat at all.I don’t really care in being spoiled & did I mention that I get a’s and b’s?Trust me if I asked for stuff I will be spoiled but I’m not am just blessed. I didn’t come on here to brag.I came on here to see if my friends were telling the truth! It may seem like I’m spoiled but I’m not.I don’t live in a pretty rich state either.I used to.I don’t even live by mansions – used too.Actually I with my 300 dollars I buy what I feel that I need and the rest of my family give me presents and my mom and dad and sisters still gives me presents on the side.But if you think I’m spoiled I’m gonna let you think that.
I didn’t mention that I donate my shoes and clothes when I can’t fit them anymore and my parents always catch my shoes and clothes on sale.

Many families are more/ less fortunate then you are. Im 15 and fell extremely grateful for what I have. I live in top 100 towns in America, less than an hour away from NYC, 2 minutes away from the beach
My dad owns a company in NYC and we have a lot.
We own a $500,000 house
Have a $50,000 suv
Vacation to exotic caribbean and central american countries(averaging around $10,000 each vacation)
Have a 55"inch flat screen downstairs, 32" flat screen in my room
Have my own macbook pro, ipod touch
Get a lot for christmas- dont no exact amount
Have $10,000 in bank, $20,000 for college
So yes, I am extremely spoiled and don’t go a day without thanking my family and good for what I have. I can only hope I will be able to provide the same for my family. My heart breaks for the poverty I see in some of my vacations in different countries. I hope to donate money to help them be able to afford a house!
